Rippleacts is a Norwich-based social enterprise empowering long-term unemployed people. We recognise that while practical employment support such as CV writing and job interview techniques exist, the emotional and mental health effects of being unemployed are rarely addressed. These barriers such as low confidence or poor mental health can make it difficult to enter or re-enter the workplace so we work to support these needs. Through a combination of cognitive behavioural group coaching, project work and peer support, we help people overcome deeply ingrained personal barriers and get back to work step by step. As part of this journey, we also support local non-profit organisations pro bono with small hands-on projects, helping our participants unlock their skills for the benefit of their local community. In doing so, we create a chain of far-reaching positive ripple effects.
We are also passionate about the promotion of inclusive employment. Through our work we have met and supported many people who are skilled and able to work, however do not feel supported by traditional working environments. We provide organisations with cost effective and interactive mental health and neurodiversity training, with the aim of enabling employers to be more inclusive. Our courses are co-created and delivered by unemployed people with lived experience, allowing them to develop their skills while ensuring relevant, informed content.
