Help shape the next phase of a growing community hub in Norwich: Norwich Unity Hub is entering a critical new phase. In under a year, we’ve transformed Carrow House into a shared home for 26 organisations, 28 artists, and a growing network of community groups. Now, we’re moving from launch to long-term sustainability and scale.
We are looking for a new Trustee to join our board and help guide this next stage.
Why join now
This is an opportunity to contribute at a pivotal moment:
- Transitioning from early growth → long-term strategy
- Expanding use of a large, complex community space
- Exploring future sites and partnerships
- Strengthening governance, systems, and sustainability
As a Trustee, you’ll help shape how a new model of shared community infrastructure develops in Norwich and beyond.
What you’ll do
Trustees provide strategic oversight and governance. This includes:
- Contributing to board discussions and decision-making
- Supporting long-term planning and organisational development
- Ensuring good governance, compliance, and sustainability
- Offering insight from your professional or lived experience
We are currently recruiting for a new Trustee with legal experience (charity law, property, contracts, or governance).
Time commitment
- Monthly board meetings (in-person where possible)
- Occasional additional input depending on your expertise
- Opportunities to engage with the Hub community and events
What you’ll gain
- Board-level experience in a growing charity
- The chance to apply your skills in a strategic (not operational) capacity
- A collaborative, values-driven board environment
- Insight into an innovative model of shared community infrastructure
- Opportunities to connect with a wide network of organisations and creatives
Who should apply
We welcome:
- First-time trustees and experienced board members
- People with professional or lived experience relevant to our work
- Individuals passionate about community-building in Norwich
- We are committed to building a diverse board and encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
